LDL cholesterol (Low Density Lipoprotein) cholesterol is dangerous type so often referred to as bad cholesterol. High LDL levels can lead to deposition of cholesterol in the blood vessels. HDL cholesterol (High Density Lipoprotein) is not dangerous because it can remove excess cholesterol in the arteries back to the liver, to be processed and disposed. HDL cholesterol prevents sediment in the arteries and protects blood vessels from the process of atherosclerosis (the formation of blockages in blood vessel walls
Excess LDL cholesterol deposited on artery walls that would lead to narrowing and hardening of the arteries, or it is called atherosclerosis (plaque formation on blood vessel walls). If the narrowing and hardening is quite heavy, so the blood supply to the heart muscle is not sufficient in number, and there arose a pain or chest pain known as angina, and if continued will lead to death of heart muscle tissue is called myocardial infarction, and If this is widespread, it will causing a condition called heart failure (heart failure).
